Back That *Thing* Up...

Our little man has been pushing up onto his hands and knees and rocking back and forth for a couple weeks now. He has yet to move forward even a little bit, but he has probably logged a few miles in the backward direction by now. It's pretty impressive, considering he has yet to put one knee in front of the other, or even behind the other, for that matter....In fact, he usually starts on his back, swatting at the toys hanging from his play gym. Then he gets bored and rolls over. He pushes up into crawling position. Then he just kind of rocks his way backwards until he's gone clear across the room and only stops when something stops him. Here are some pics of one of his longest journeys yet.

Already off the play gym mat.

Getting farther away from the cool toy.

Trying so hard to get...back...to...the...toy.
(notice he's on one knee and one set of toes, trying so hard)

Once the toy's out of reach, he remembers how fun it is to look at all the crazy patterns on the quilt.

Pausing to show me how proud he is of himself.
(he looks so much like my brother in this pic!!)

Finally he gets stopped by the door, then rolls over to check out what put and end to his odyssey.

Thinking of all the fun things he's gonna do outside once he can just find a way to get out there.

Gettin' excited about it.

Tickled with himself.

Just chillaxin'.

A bird's eye view of his trip. Backwards.

And then he finds a way to move again....
