First Snow!

We woke up to our first snow of the season today and Luke's first snow ever! Since he has just gotten over his cold, I wasn't about to take him out in it. Instead, we stood inside and looked at it together. Yes, together...Poor Phil left for work this morning like he always does at 7:15. He called me about an hour later to say that he was sitting in bumper to bumper traffic and hadn't even gotten to the Kroger that is just 1.2 miles away from our house. It usually takes Phil about 10 minutes to get to work, maybe 15 if there's traffic. This morning, though, every road was super icy and cars were sliding off the roads left and right. The car in front of him at one point slid off the road and right into a tree! The worst part was that even after all that, he still couldn't figure out how he was going to get to work. All the roads headed west toward his office were either closed or were so hilly that he dared not even try. Anyway, Phil ended up just turning around and coming back home. Luke had woken up and just finished eating when Phil got home, so we all headed downstairs to look out the back doors/windows at all the snow. Who knows if Luke noticed the difference in his backyard, but he certainly stared at it for a long time. It was so cute that I had to snap a couple pictures!
