Vacay.

As I mentioned before, we recently took a road trip to visit Phil's family and see some friends. It was sooo much fun. We had lots of great times, but one of the definite highlights was getting to meet Phil's sister's new baby for the first time. Baby Drew, as we like to call him, is about 4 months old and just the sweetest little guy you have ever met. He is so chill and such a good boy, not to mention absolutely adorable to look at.

The Stinker played at being shy upon introduction, but warmed up to his new cousin very quickly.

Once he was satisfied with his inspection of Cousin Drew, it was time to get on the four wheeler. After all, the whole reason to go the mountain house is to ride the four wheeler, right?

It was hot as blue blazes so it wasn't long before the kiddos hit the pool.

Baby Drew was so sleepy but was happy to sit back and dip his feet.
I think he kinda looks like the lifeguard on duty in this pic.

Luke, on the other hand, was ready to get wet!

So tickled with himself.

Daddy even got in the pool and helped keep Luke cool.

It wasn't long before Luke decided to return the favor.

Silly Stinker was so proud of himself.

Baby Drew cheered Luke on between nibbles on his fingers.
Love him!

Later on we tried for some pictures of the grandkids.
Luke actually sat still!

For 3 seconds.

He was happy to sit and read with Grammy and Drew, though...

until the hungry caterpillar's gluttonous Saturday shocked him right out of his seat!

Even Baby Drew was stunned!

The shock of it all jolted Luke back to reality and forced him to realize what he had been missing out on whilst lounging around inside...

Within seconds he was back in the saddle again.

Love my handsome dudes!

The focus should probably be reversed here, but I still love this picture.

And just so you don't think they dawdled around on the pavement all day, here's a picture of my tough guys headed down the hill into the woods. It made me kind of sad to see my just-two year old co-piloting a huge four wheeler like he was born to ride... Shouldn't he be playing nicely with bubbles or chasing butterflies or something else age appropriate? Oh well. He was happy as a pig in slop, so I guess that's all a mom can ask for...well, that and a helmet (or two).

  1. Great post! Cousin Luke was so sweet with our little man. We loved the weekend with y'all. Hope we can have our boys together again soon. Just think, by our next holiday gathering, Drew could be crawling and Luke can give him tips on how to go go go!
