With the warmer weather we've been having lately, we decided to take Luke to the park the other day. By the time we got there, it was pretty chilly and kind of gray, but there were TONS of kids and parents there. It was late afternoon and Lukie Lu was already tired, so he was surprisingly NOT down with all the craziness of a million kiddos running and screaming all over the place. We put him in a baby swing first.
He was not excited about it.
As much as I tried...
...I couldn't get him to warm up to it.
He wouldn't even crack a smile and looked kind of scared/ticked the whole time....
...so we moved to the slide with Daddy.
This wasn't doing it either, so we decided to try the big boy swing...
...but Daddy thought it was really uncomfortable...
...so Mommy subbed in.
This was a little more fun for the Luke Man.
He just sat back and chilled.
He still wouldn't smile, but he didn't seem as bothered as before.
Then we moved to the yellow slide and let him go down "all by himself"....
...Yipppeeeee!!!
He loved it so much, he couldn't contain the belly!
He went down again and again...
...and loved every minute of it!
The next day was still kind of chilly, but we decided to go ahead and put Luke's new swing up in the backyard. This swing is awesome. It was a gift from Luke's {Aunt} Annie, my little sister. It has several pieces that are removable, so it will grow with him. We hung it from the edge of our harbor, facing out toward the yard, so that Luke could have something to look at. He LOVES to be outside and look at everything. Anyway, when we first put him in the swing, he wasn't so sure...He may have had flashbacks to the swing episode at the park.
Luckily Yellow Man was with him this time to provide moral support.
He must have done the trick, because Luke had a much more positive experience this time.
He just got happier...
...and happier...
...and happier...
...and happiest!!
He is now a huge fan and can be found looking longingly out the glass door at his swing many, many times in a day. Especially when it's raining and freezing outside...and Mommy refuses to let him out.
